Comprehensive Neurological Evaluations for Pilots
Noran Neurology offers Comprehensive Neurological Evaluations compliant with the Federal Aviation Administration specifications for pilots. The evaluation will be performed by a physician (MD or DO) who is ABPN board-certified in neurology, and may entail additional testing as indicated.
As part of this evaluation, the neurologist will review relevant medical records including treatment, imaging and/or other testing, and hospital/ER records. They will document a detailed and multifaceted medically pertinent history, as well as conduct an examination to include both a comprehensive neurological exam and an assessment of mental status. Diagnostic imaging, tests, or other procedures may be ordered. Once diagnosis and etiology has been established, the neurologist will develop a treatment plan and provide a prognosis and risk assessment.
Although we do not offer the CogScreen-AE at this time, we work with board-certified psychologists trained in aeromedical neuropsychology and can facilitate the referral to this specialized testing when needed as part of the neurological evaluation process.
